Desire is the friend that never leaves thru the day
An enemy that keeps one warm
on cold nights
What is it that you desire
and dream of when alone
An answer is the greatest
risk but the only way to reward
When you ask me what I want
what do I desire
Do you listen to or think
upon the answer I say?
How I listen to each syllable you speak and word you utter
And try to find the way to
bring to fruit your dearest wish
It is thoughts of you that
warm my soul and light my skies
Never a shadow upon my face
or turn of the wind in my sail
For when two people seek
only that which will give the other joy
Can they forget themselves
and find joy in each other
Desire is a selfish thing a
dark and devious creature
A friend of hope and guide
of love and a fount of the heart
Happiness is my one desire
keenly sharp and to the point
Fear can never stop me and
thru passage of fright leads the prize
